Our process
How we build generator results.
Random does not have to mean careless. These are the standards we use when creating and maintaining every Slapnames generator.
1. A specific job first
Each generator starts with a defined use case and audience. A fantasy hero needs a different rhythm and vocabulary from a gamertag, pet name, or band name, so each tool has its own rules and source pools.
2. Curated building blocks
Word banks are selected and grouped by tone, sound, length, and theme. We remove combinations that are hard to pronounce, confusing at a glance, needlessly offensive, or simply feel like filler.
3. Combination tests
Automated tests protect the generator rules and output shape. We also sample results manually because code can prove that an output is valid without proving that it sounds good.
4. Useful context
Generator pages include examples, usage tips, and answers to common questions. This material is written for the specific naming task rather than copied between pages.
5. Updates and limitations
We refine weak pools and combinations when we find them. Generated names are creative prompts, not legal or availability checks. Before using a name commercially, check trademarks, domains, platform handles, and local rules yourself.
